Since childhood we are studying that about 70% of our earth’s surface is covered by water and water is the most precious gift of nature. But, how many of you actually know that we ‘human beings’ are only responsible for exploiting this natural resource to such an extent that now, it has become impossible to control water pollution. The misuse of this valuable resource has become a threat to human life as well as aquatic life as displayed in heartbreaking images of water pollution.

Fishes are among beautiful sea creatures and they are also inhaled as a rich source of protein.
But, again it’s so sad to know that fish kills are becoming very visible events from past 3-4 years and rising as an issue of concern for many people. Fish kills can occur due to a number of reasons such as – algal bloom, acid sulfate soils, dissolved solids, but the ammonia (NH3) toxins are hazardous among all. Many fishes lost their lives due to harmful ammonia toxins as viewed in heart breaking images of water pollution.

Aren’t you shocked? When you hear news early morning telling that a 5-year-old schoolboy lost his life because of drinking contaminated water! Almost 90% of child deaths from diarrhoeal diseases are directly linked to lack of sanitation, contaminated water or inadequate hygiene. As being a responsible citizen, it’s time to ‘WAKE UP’ as the next turn may be of your own child.

They don’t even have water to drink, then how can they dream of having water-filters. How would you feel if you see small kid drinking sewage water as no other option is left?

Also, many water-borne diseases and infectious diseases are spreading through contaminated water leading to severe deaths such as – cholera, dysentery, jaundice.

At last, now it’s high time friends! We must start thinking that everywhere we go is our property which we need to protect and keep clean at all times. Otherwise, the whole scenario may seem like – “WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE, NOT A SINGLE DROP TO DRINK”.
