Life Is For Living To The Fullest – So Stop Existing

We all start our lives as infants and then we go on to their teens and our adulthood. Most of us have a good time as infants and in our youth given that all our needs are pretty simple and are in most cases well looked after.  In this time period of our lives, we tend to live to the fullest; we laugh, we play, we love, we have loads of fun and enjoy life even though nobody in the seeming angst of life would admit to that. Then comes adulthood, a stage when we start our careers and our families. This is the stage when we realize how good things were until now and how good a time we have had until now.

Soon we let the way life unfolds overwhelms us and we slip from living our lives to simply existing.  We start focusing more on the mundane and ignore the divine. By this, we do not mean that everyone who starts adult life has to become spiritual but that life is for living and not just for existing. We mean that you should take a look at the life you are living and ensure that you do not get crushed by the responsibilities and take time to do things that you like doing and ensure that you live your life to the fullest.

Here Are Some Things That You Need To Do To Start Living Life To The Fullest And Not Simply Exist:

Accept that responsibilities are part of your life now: One of the things that makes us slip from living life fully to merely existing is because we tend to fight the thought of responsibilities that we have to take on. This makes us reluctant and resentful of all the things that need to be done and soon we tend to become bitter about our responsibilities. A better approach would be to accept that these responsibilities are an inevitable part of our lives and simply accept it. Once you accept your responsibilities, you will find that the miasma of resentment that you have disappears and things become lighter.

Take a step back and assess what needs to be done: Once you know that responsibilities are part of your life, don’t let it overwhelm you. Just sit down and start assessing the extent of responsibilities that you have so that you have a realistic view of what needs to be done. This step will enable you to break things down and make a workable plan for what needs to be done in the future.

Make a deliberate effort to factor in some fun: You have to realize that no matter what responsibilities life imposes on you, there is always room for some levity and fun. But this is not something that will happen by itself; you will need to make a deliberate effort to have some fun.  That is the difference between your childhood and teens from that of your adulthood. However, the good news is that once you make an effort, fun will become part of your life.

Ensure that you do the small things that you enjoy: When we talk of making a deliberate effort to have fun, what we do not mean is focusing only on the bigger fun things, but actually focusing on snatching all those small bits of fun when you can. That is part of growing up, which can be a painful thing to do, which also entails that even having fun changes along with other things when you are grownup but it need not be a bad thing at all.

Acknowledge how lucky you have been with so many things: Another thing that can really embitter most people is not knowing how lucky they have been and how grateful they should be for some things in their life. Once you take a look at your life and start feeling thankful for all the things that you do have. Once your thinking is slanted in this way, you will be pleasantly surprised as to how many things that you will find to be grateful for. There is nothing that is more mood lifting than doing this; it will make your realize all about surprises and why they are so appealing.

Think of your current responsibilities as payback for what you got: What is more, you have to realize that life is a cycle, and you are simply repaying to the future generation what the last generation did for you. Pause for a moment, and you will realize that your parents took on all the responsibility while you were having the fun and now you have to pay back by doing the same for the future generation.
